Many internet marketers lean towards Aweber for their email marketing needs, however I prefer iContact as it comes with several unique advantages that Aweber does not, advantages which can make a huge difference in the bottom-line profits for your business.

Here is why I use iContact vs Aweber for Marketing:
- iContact allows for the importing of a business’ contact list WITHOUT requiring them to confirm their email (only catch is that you MUST make sure that the names on the list have gave their permission to be contacted–otherwise you’re spamming and that’s a big tsk tsk!)
- iContact can provide you with “Agency Status” which means YOU can create sub-accounts for each of your business clients (just like a website reseller account), and then login and manage their email marketing campaigns for them!
- Because of the Agency Status feature–should you need to part ways with a business client–they can simply continue using their email account (with their built-up list) without being REQUIRED to deal with you…but you can charge them MONTHLY to use it!
- Aweber on the other hand only allows one user per account–so there is no way to do this with Aweber (and the other services) without having to setup individual billing for each account (not to mention handling all the other issues that brings with it)
- Another advantage is that each sub-account can have its own contact information in the bottom of each email–ensuring that each business has its own branded emails–but with Aweber (unless you purchase multiple accounts) only ONE footer of contact information can be used.
- iContact provides FREE email marketing access for accounts up to 500 contacts — the perfect solution for marketers dealing with local businesses without having to pay a monthly fee to Aweber for a few leads to follow-up with (as you grow, you can turn your free account into an Agency account and handle the marketing of clients!)
- The Agency program allows you to have unlimited free autoresponders for your account (and each client sub-folder) while charging around $2 for each email campaign you send out on behalf of your clients
There’s a ton of other great features that also have me excited about using iContact as well–but I listed the most important ones above…
So in summary: Aweber is great for marketers when it comes to “single business marketing” needs–but not for Offline Marketers who want to provide email marketing solutions to multiple clients including the ability to import their customer lists without requiring them to re-confirm.
