Here’s something that you need to keep in mind:
No one company, or person in that company, can know enough about EVERYTHING to do it all on their own.
Think about all the areas that businesses are having problems in, areas that they might not even realize just how bad the extent of these problems are, which you have knowledge in?
Sure they might have an in-house webmaster, or a marketing team, etc.
But you are a consultant, you will be hired because you have a specialized knowledge in an area that the business does not have someone knowledge in, or have the time to train someone to do.
You will be able to enter into a relationship with the business and solve specific problems that they need to address immediately.
How do you determine the problems that need to be solved?
You ask questions and you listen to their goals.
Let the business identify what areas they need help in, and simply fill that void with a solution.
If you approach a business to do “website marketing” and they have a “website guy” then you just eliminated yourself.
But if you take the time to learn that the business is struggling to attract new business, then you can become the “lead generator” consultant and provide a marketing solution designed to help the business attract more leads (direct mail etc.)
For example I use my Coffee Close marketing tool to ask the right questions, get clients excited, and identify multiple opportunities to increase their profits by ten’s of thousands of dollars…while being compensated appropriately for doing so!

Just remember: Be the flexible solution and you’ll see very good results!
